 | Mini 4 pot billet alloy calipers:The
calipers are CNC machined from HE30 (6082) extruded billets, which has
improved the caliper body stiffness over our previous sand cast
caliper. Hard anodised alloy pistons are fitted with dust seals fitted
with fluid feed from a single 3/8UNF fluid feed port Stainless steel
bolts and bleed screws are used throughout . Weight less pads 1.26kg

Wheel clearance templates:These PDF (Adobe Acrobat) files can be downloaded, printed out full size and glued to card backing. The profile can then be cut out and tried into the wheels to ascertain if there is sufficient caliper to wheel clearance

| KAD Mini Brake DiscsKAD
offers a range of performance brake discs for the Mini in three
diameters and three face styles on solid or ventilated disc castings.
For 12” and 13” wheels, standard diameter 8.4” discs are used. For most
10” wheels, 7.9” diameter solid or vented discs can be fitted and where
the 10” wheel has a more restrictive inner profile, 7.75” discs and the
smaller diameter 4 pot caliper can be used. Face options are plain,
grooved or cross drilled and grooved. KAD brake discs should be fitted
to the 12” wheel drive flanges and can be used with either the four pot
or six pot calipers for 7.9” and 8.4” diameters and the four pot
calipers for 7.75” discs.

| 1012070 KAD Mini Rear disc conversion This
has been developed in 2001 to fill the need for a lightweight rear disc
brake conversion with an effective mechanical handbrake to replace the
standard drum brakes at the rear. The rationale was never to increase
braking effort at the rear of the car but to reduce weight. Even with
alloy wheel hubs and alloy wheel cylinders, drum brakes cannot be
reduced below 4.6kgs on a cost effective basis due to the weight of
steel in items such as the brake shoes, mechanism and backplates.
The
calipers are a single piston sliding type, fully dust sealed, machined
from billet aluminium. The hubs, carrying a lightweight steel drilled
disc are CNC machined from billet aluminium and accept standard Mini
wheel bearings. The kits are supplied complete with all of the parts to
convert from drum to disc brake and use the standard handbrake cables.
The kit will fit under 10" wheels and has been designed with both road
and competition usage in mind.

Fitting instructions
| KAD Adjustable bias pedal boxHorizontally
mounted, fabricated pedal box which bolts to existing brake master
cylinder mounting studs, facing forward into engine bay. Enables the
use of independent front and rear master cylinders with a balance bar
assembly to adjust front to rear bias.
Length, forwards into engine bay (to end of master cylinders) 255mm, width across 125mm, height to reservoir cap 145mm.

type A calipers are CNC machined from single billet of 2014A T6
aluminium alloy, the one piece design minimises caliper body deflection
and the thin section bridging the disc allow bigger disc to be fitted
under given wheel rim size. The calipers are radial mounting which
allows one caliper version to fit discs from 7.9-8.4" diameter, widths
10-20mm. Differentially sized thin wall stainless steel pistons are
used to reduce uneven wear of the brake pads
These calipers
are not fitted with dust seals as they are primarily intended for race
use. If used on road cars, the area around the pistons must be kept
free of a build up of brake dust and road salt. Weight less pads and
mountings 1.17kg

 | 1012140 KAD Mini 6 pot Big Disc kitFor
13” wheels where a no compromise front brake setup is required our big
disc conversion can be used. This combines our one piece Type B 6 pot
caliper with a 265x18mm vented disc with separate alloy mounting bell. This is a
competition oriented brake upgrade as the calipers are not fitted with
dust seals.

 | 1019178 'K4' Caliper Kit
With the demand for more powerful brakes to be used under 13" wheels on the road we have developed the K4 Caliper. It is a hybrid between the 10.4" disc used in our Mini Big Disc 6 Pot caliper kit and the tried and tested 4 Pot caliper.
This means that the massive breaking tourque gained from the bigger disc can be combined with a caliper with dust seals fitted, giving you the best of both worlds: Making the kit ideal for road use but also suitable for the track.
The kit is supplied with calipers discs, bells and 'budget' (EBC Greenstuff) fast road pads -Pad upgrades available.
